Character Name: Hina Izumi | Shekara (a bilingual pun, mashing together the Japanese term 力 [chikara] for "strength" and "she", denoting a female)
Character Canon: Kamen Rider OOO
Canon Background: Link!
Omegafriends Background:
Hina will actually remain almost entirely canon!! She is still the younger sister of Shingo Izumi, who was possessed by the bird Greeed named Ankh for about a year. She was still tricked, briefly, by Eiji Hino into thinking that her brother was working undercover and wouldn't be home for a while!! She still got a part time job at Cous Coussier, she still befriended both Eiji and aforementioned bird Greeed after sorting out the whole "bird demon possessing my brother" deal. She is still in high school with the intent of becoming a fashion designer.
The big difference is, uh. The fact that she wound up taking an internship in Venture City and kind of also became a Superhero.
So sometime after the events of the series, Hina was checking out internships all around the world for fashion design and really liked the look of what Venture City offered. Plus it sounded like a very exciting city, and after having lived in a city with a Kamen Rider that she was friends with... Well, normal cities were just kind of dull.
So she hopped on a plane to Venture City and took on her internship. Probably something like a week after arriving she intervened in some kind of villainous activity and saved a couple of civilians (after probably wrapping some kind of cloth around her face so she was ~incognito~, because you have to follow the rules if you're going to save people and everyone knows you can't show your face if you're a hero). To her surprise, her inhuman strength was met with gratitude and wonder, instead of confused alarm, which did wonders to kick her embarrassment over it to the curb. In a comical twist of fate, she was then effectively scouted, after making herself a Super Suit out of sheer brazen excitement, by none other than Eiji Hino, to join the OmegaFriends. Eiji was probably mortified when she later brought up that it was her, given she was already aware of his status as Kamen Rider OOO so she knew who he was the whole time.
...So! Now she juggles a design internship in an unknown city and helps keep it safe in a cute, stylish spandex suit. Totally living the dream.
Personality:
Hina was, quite plainly, more than a little underdeveloped in the source material. She's pretty solidly the lead female role of a show geared toward an audience of young boys-- her biggest asset was an inexplicable superhuman strength and otherwise she was just kind of The Girl. She showed a marked level of potential beyond that, but basically none of it was ever expounded upon. For this reason, she'll have a lot of potentials to build upon in Venture City that haven't expressly changed about her just yet.
The biggest of these will be a marked rise in confidence in herself. She's never been entirely meek, but she has always had a bit of a complex about her strength in particular. With that no longer a reason to be embarrassed, and in fact a very good thing and a way to help people, she will lose that complex and turn it into confidence in herself. This will likely aid her in her internship, as well, allowing her to believe more in herself and her designs.
There's also the fact that given the closure she was at the end of the series, she has considerably less concerned over her older brother, Shingo. For a good portion of the series Hina was about 98% concern for Shingo and ire at Ankh for possessing him, and while she slowly grew out of that to become fond of Ankh throughout the course of the series, with the series ending as it did and Shingo being fine that sort of became a non-issue. Through the course of the series itself, she went from something of a codependent younger sister, orphaned by the death of her parents as a child, to growing into her own person when she was forced to take care of herself and make her own decisions without her brother's guidance. So now that she's really grown into herself and even moved to a new city in a whole different country by herself, she's very much adapted to independence.
Powers:
No canon divergence at all. She's just inexplicably really freakishly strong. There was never an explanation or really any sort of discussion on her strength at all, possibly because she was so insecure about it through the series. She has been shown with the ability to effortlessly lift an entire vending machine, large boulders, metal milk crates half her size... Chiyoko, her boss and the owner of the restaurant Cous Coussier, set up a "test" before hiring her that involved chaining the door to the restaurant shut and weighting it with all manner of things, then claiming that Hina was just the strong-arm she'd been looking for before hiring her when she opened the doors with no effort, only confusion.
